Katy Breast Lift

There are many reasons breasts can sag. From genetic predisposition to past pregnancies, weight fluctuations, and aging-breasts can be left hollow and pendulous. This makes it difficult to fit into bras, swimwear, and even formal clothing. The good news is that there are many options to restore the youthful appearance of your breasts. Based on your individual needs, Dr. Rodgers can customize a surgery for you. The general rule of thumb is that, the greater the degree of ptosis (sagging), the more extensive the surgery has to be to correct the problem. Dr. Rodgers has extensive training in and offers all degrees of breast lifting surgeries. From incisions completely hidden in the pigmented skin of the nipple/areola, to vertical lifts (incision from the nipple down to the chest), to full Wise-pattern lifts (vertical incision plus an incision under the breast), Dr. Rodgers will thoroughly review each option and what it could do for you. Each of these surgeries can also be combined with an implant to further enhance size and projection. Imagine having the breasts you have always wanted-it is possible!

About the Surgery

There is quite a bit of variability when it comes to a summary of breast lifting surgery.

As mentioned above, some women need only a minimal incision around the pigmented portion of the nipple/ areola. This takes about 1 and a half hours, is done under general anesthesia, and has minimal recovery limitations. Most women need the vertical lift. This lift combines the areolar incision with an incision that runs vertically (up and down) from the areola to the chest. This incision generally heals very well and allows for a good degree of lift to the breast tissue. This procedure takes about an hour and a half (2 hours when combined with an implant insertion), and has also a relatively easy recovery. The final type of lift (Wise-pattern) is reserved for patients with tremendously sagging breasts (nipples near the belly-button). Operative time is approximately 2 and a half to 3 hours and recovery from this surgery is similar to that of a breast reduction generally not painful, but associated with a more prolonged healing time.
