Arms

Excess skin and fat are not always limited to the body. The upper arms can carry extra tissue making it difficult to wear short sleeve shirts or find clothing that fits properly.

A Brachioplasty will remove this excess skin and fat that may be present after weight loss or the effects of age and gravity. Dr. Rodgers performs a Brachioplasty to slim down the upper arms, giving them a natural look, and bringing them into better proportion with the rest of your body.

A Brachioplasty can be performed at the same time as other body contouring procedures giving your body a balanced look. Many times liposuction is added to the procedure to help decrease the amount of fatty tissue, enhancing the overall result.

The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient in a fully accredited hospital. The procedure can take about two hours and you will be discharged home when stable. The incisions are placed on the inside of your upper arm up into the armpit which, by the way will remove most or all of your underarm hair…no more shaving! These incisions are not visible when the arms engaged in most normal activities and they will fade with time. You will wear a compression garment for about two weeks to help control swelling and bruising and support your arms through the healing process.
